Still Life Stories with Jennifer Peters

A community-focused photography and storytelling project that explores our relationships with the objects we keep. In pertnership withj Keighley Creative.

From childhood treasures and family heirlooms to ordinary household items, our possessions often carry stories of identity, belonging, love, loss and change. An object that appears unremarkable to one person can hold a lifetime of meaning for another.

Through a series of creative workshops and shared conversations, Jennifer hopes to explore why we become attached to certain things, how possessions help shape our sense of self and the ways in which our relationships with objects evolve throughout our lives.

The workshops will offer a welcoming, accessible space for people to reflect on their own experiences, listen to others and discover unexpected connections through shared memories. Participants will be encouraged to explore personal stories through gentle conversation, creative activities and photography, with no previous creative experience needed and no pressure to share anything they would prefer to keep private.

At its heart, Still Life Stories is about recognising that everyone has a story worth telling and sometimes the simplest object is all it takes to begin a conversation.
