I’ve always loved striking up conversations with people on the street, and am especially fascinated by people who might, to some, seem intimidating or ‘different’. When I started painting a few years ago, this took on a different dimension, and I started to ask the people I met if they would be up for being painted. My work is about the stories behind the sitters, it’s about trying to convey something of the inner character through a 2D medium.
